DIY Letter Learn & Trace Board

DIY Toddler Learn & Trace Board
This one couldn't be simpler, but Lake has honestly had so much fun with it. I originally had the idea to help her learn to write letters, which it is still great for, but Lake is obviously a bit small for that, she is only two. So I thought it would be great to start with simple lines and shapes, with a view to move on to the letters in the future.

Like I said, its so easy to put together. I bought this sheet of acrylic & chalk pens from Amazon:

All I did was, sand the corners of the perspex a bit so they wasn't sharp. Then printed some sheets for her to trace. As mentioned, I printed a letter sheet but this is too complex for Lake at the minute, so I also printed some line and shape sheets for her to trace. I also made sure the perspex was A4 size so I could easily print. Then obviously the chalk pen just gets wiped away for another turn!

So Lake hasn't quite managed to trace the lines properly yet, but she is only 2, she loves having a try anyway! Such a great way for her to practice, it all helps to prepare her little hands for writing and how to grasp a pen/pencil. It will help for her to learn to control the pen and strengthen her fingers and hands. She loves it!
