DIY Toy Mop

I have been after a wooden toy sweeping set for Lake for so long, as she loves using mine. All the ones I found were quite expensive, so I had an idea to make my own, and I thought a mop would be an easier alternative. Its such a quick and easy DIY and Lake has honestly has had so much fun with it already! I used a wooden dowel as we had one in the shed, but you can pick them up in B&Q for about £3, I also think a little garden cane would work perfect.

What you'll need:
Wooden Dowel or Garden cane
Some old Fabric
Glue
Cut the fabric into a rectangle shape and fold in half. I'm not one for measurements but you will just need to make it so when folded in half it will be big enough for your mop head...
Start to make strip cuts in the fabric all the way along, ensuring to leave about a inch and a half spacing at the fold...
Start to roll around the fold of the fabric around the bottom of the dowel/ garden cane, glueing in place as you go...
Once i reached the end, I glued the other end back on its self before glueing in place, just to make a neater edge...
All done, totally optional but I then glued some string on the top, purely for aesthetic purposes...
